What have you memorised?

Add as much as you know by heart. You can recite it, and you can listen to others reciting it.

More than one person has reported you, so for now Tasmee will only pair you with people in your circles. Your circles, your record and everything you have memorised are untouched. You are not told who reported you, and they are not told anything about you.

If you believe this is wrong, tell whoever runs your circle, or write to Tasmee.

Tasmee can tap you on the shoulder when someone in your circle asks you to listen, or when someone offers to hear what you've put up. Nothing else, ever.

Say you're free to be called on and Tasmee will tell you when someone you don't know is looking for a listener for something you know. Only while you're on call, and only a few times a day.

Choose your days, and a time for each — different days have different rhythms. Tasmee will remind you to recite to someone. Nothing is counted, and a day you miss is just a day you missed.

• No recording, ever. Your voice goes straight from one phone to the other. Tasmee’s own server never carries the sound and has nowhere to keep it. There is no recording to be leaked, subpoenaed or sold, because none is made.
• No brother is ever put with a sister. You choose once, at sign-up. Tasmee’s server writes it down and will not change it afterwards — not for you, and not for a changed app claiming otherwise. Every introduction is checked against what the server holds.
• No typing to each other. There is no chat in Tasmee. Two people recite and listen, and that is all there is to do. Nothing can be sent that way, because there is no way.
• No counting. No streaks, no scores, no league table. Worship is not a competition, and nothing in Tasmee ranks one person against another.

Tasmee is not adults-only. A madrasah has children and adults in it, and both belong here — but not on the same terms.

• 18 or over: you may be paired with anyone, anywhere, of the same gender — or you can narrow it to your circles whenever you like.
• Under 18: circles only, always. Never a stranger, never someone on call, never a request from outside. Only people who have been let into a circle with them.
• It is not a setting they can turn off. Tasmee’s server holds the answer given at sign-up and applies the rule itself, so a young person cannot loosen it and neither can a changed app.
• It lifts by itself on their eighteenth birthday. Someone under 18 gives the month and year they were born — never the day — and Tasmee works out the date from that. On that date they simply become an adult here. Nothing to unlock, nobody to ask, no message to send, and so no way for anyone to talk their way past it early.
• An adult should set it up. A parent or a teacher makes the circle, lets people in, and can see the revision record. That is the supervision — Tasmee does not replace it.

• A made-up code for this phone — not your name, just letters and numbers
• Your first name, as you typed it
• Brother or sister
• Whether you said you are 18 or over — and if not, the date you turn 18
• The portions you say you have memorised
• The circles you are in, and their codes
• Your wird ticks, and what you read if you chose to say
• Your revision record: portions, dates, and the name of whoever listened
• Your reminder days and times
• Whether you are on call
• Anyone you have reported, and why — and anyone who has reported you, and why
• If you turned notifications on, the address your phone’s maker gave Tasmee to reach it
• If you set up a passkey, the public half of it — the half that can only check a signature, never make one

• No email address and no password — you were never asked for either, and a passkey means there is none to ask for
• Not your face and not your fingerprint. Those never leave your phone; Tasmee only ever sees that your phone was satisfied
• No phone number, no surname, no address, and no day of birth — someone under 18 gives only a month and a year
• No payment details of any kind
• Not a second of anyone’s voice

• Leave. One tap, in any session, with no reason asked for and nothing said to the other person.
• Report. Two taps: what happened, and that is it. Neither of you is ever offered the other again — held by the server, so it survives a new phone. If more than one different person reports the same person, Tasmee stops offering them to strangers by itself, until someone has read the reports. Their own circles carry on as before, and one report never does this — one person’s word is not enough to narrow anybody’s Qur’an.
• Shut the door on strangers. The switch at the top of this screen. If either side has it on, the two of you are not put together.

Said here rather than buried, because you should know before you trust it:

• Signing in is by passkey only, and only if you set one up. Tasmee can remember you using the Face ID or fingerprint that already unlocks your phone — no password, no email, nothing for anyone to steal from Tasmee, because Tasmee never holds it. If you have not set one up, who you are is only a code kept in this browser: clear it and your circles and your record are gone, and someone you reported could come back as somebody new.
• The call is direct, so the two phones see each other’s internet address. That is exactly why Tasmee cannot hear you — but it means you are private from Tasmee, not anonymous from the person you recite with. A relay would hide it and has not been built.
• Age is taken on trust. Tasmee asks and believes the answer. It cannot check, and someone who says the wrong thing at sign-up would not be caught. That is why a madrasah should set its students up itself, in its own circles, rather than leaving each child to sign up alone.
• A circle code is a key. Anyone holding it can ask to join, so share it with people, not with the internet. Someone still has to let them in.

You'll get a code to share. You decide who comes in.

Anyone with this code can ask to join. You approve them.

Sittings inside Tasmee are written down by themselves. This is for one you did face to face.

People waiting to be heard

They left a request when nobody was free. Offer to listen and they'll see it when they next open Tasmee.

The session ends either way and you will never be paired with this person again. They are never told who reported them. Nothing was recorded, so what you pick here is all anyone will have to go on.
