Welcome to Tasmee

The ummah, brought closer by the Qur'an.

"And hold firmly, all of you together, to the rope of Allah, and do not be divided. Remember the favour of Allah upon you: when you were enemies, He joined your hearts together, so that by His favour you became brothers; and you were on the edge of a pit of fire, and He saved you from it. So does Allah make His signs clear to you, that you may be guided." Aal-Imran 103

Somewhere in the world right now, someone is revising what they have memorised and needs an ear. Somewhere else, someone knows that same portion by heart and has ten minutes to spare.

Tasmee puts the two together. Nothing to arrange, and no distance in the way. A brother in London recites to a brother in Lagos. A sister in Cairo listens to a sister in Toronto. A teacher hears their students wherever they are.

Recite to someone who knows it too.

Tasmee pairs you with another Muslim, live, so you can revise your memorisation out loud and be corrected.

You are

Tasmee only ever pairs brothers with brothers and sisters with sisters. This cannot be changed later.

What have you memorised?

Add as much as you know by heart. You can recite it, and you can listen to others reciting it.

    How Tasmee works

One minute, and you'll never need this screen again.

    1. What have you memorised? Add it by juz, by half or quarter of a juz, by surah, or any stretch from one ayah to another. You can recite what you add, and you can listen to others reciting it.
    2. To recite: pick what you'll recite today Tasmee finds someone free who has memorised it. If they only know part of it, you're connected for that part and can find someone else for the rest.
    3. To listen: say what you'll hear today Everything you know is offered by default. Narrow it if you only want to hear a certain portion.
    4. If you're listening, tap along as they recite The Arabic appears on your screen. Tap the ayah they have just reached — everything up to there turns green, and a line marks the spot. This is how Tasmee knows how far they got.
    5. Then close the session, as the listener Finished it all if they completed the portion. Stopped early if they didn't — then they can pick up from exactly the ayah you marked, another day.
    6. If nobody is free Leave a request. It stays up for a week, and anyone who can hear that portion will see it and offer.

Brothers are only ever paired with brothers, and sisters with sisters. Nothing is recorded — no part of any recitation is saved, anywhere.

    السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ

    Assalamu alaikum

    Connecting…

    My circle

A circle is people you know: a class, a family, a few friends. Everything about how Tasmee pairs you stays the same — brothers with brothers, sisters with sisters.

    Join a circle

Someone in the circle gives you its code.

    Start a circle

You'll get a code to share. You decide who comes in.

    Code to share

Anyone with this code can ask to join. You approve them.

    In this circle

    What are you reciting?

Add everything you want to get through in one sitting.

    This sitting

Who would you like to recite to?

      What will you listen to?

Everything you've memorised is offered by default. Narrow it if you only want to hear a certain part today.

      You'll be offered

        You're available to listen

Keep this open. When someone needs a listener for something you know, Tasmee will connect you.

        Waiting

Checking that others can see you…

        Who's here

Keep this screen open and don't let the phone lock, or others stop seeing you.
